G4S Aviation Services (UK) Ltd (G4S), one of the UK’s leading aviation security specialists, has announced it has won a new three year contract to be the provider of security solutions to British Airways at Heathrow and Gatwick Airports.
Starting from this month, G4S will provide a range of security services at Heathrow and Gatwick, including: staff, passenger, baggage and cargo screening; document and biometric verification; aircraft protection; firearms handling; incident response services; and building and asset security.
Adrian Tighe, Managing Director of Transport and Borders (UK) said: “We have been working closely with British Airways for over a decade and are delighted to be continuing our long-standing relationship as an integral part of their security arrangements. This contract will allow us to work in partnership with BA developing improved processes and enhancing levels of customer service.”
The contract is expected to guarantee positions for over 600 people in the Heathrow and Gatwick areas.
